When “Creative” Ads Just Don’t Work.
"Pushed" the Envelope? Nah, these ads kicked it in the nuts, set it on fire, and buried the ashes.
Ad creatives—at least the good ones—are always looking for new ways to be creative. To be original. This is a good thing. Most of the time.
But sometimes, copywriters and art directors push it a bit too far and it ends up in “Crazy-town” or “Stupid-ville” or “WTF-burg”.
Usually these ads get killed by the client, either because they don’t understand it, or it scares the shit out of them.
