See, this is the problem that readers have with Substack. I can't afford $50 per year for each of my favorite writers; $100 for one writer is totally out of my league. It seems there should be a way to bundle a few writers into a package I could purchase. Everyone would win; the marginal writers could start making money, the great ones would have a steady income. There wouldn't have to be so many free subscribers who like to browse but can't pay top dollar. Your writing is okay, but I can do without it -- and so I will do without it. Sorry. (I don't have a full-time either, dude.)
Well, dudette, I didn't set the price, Substack did. Yes, I know I'm not a great writer; I'm a niche writer, I write about what I'm an expert about: advertising (I'm also an expert on hockey and drums, not writing about those, but played both most of my life). Most people hate ads and don't want to see ads, as they should. Thanks for commenting.
Yes, that's the problem. Niche writers are fun to read, but it's harder to part with my money for a mildly interesting piece. I wish the Substackers would come up with a solution; I think it would be beneficial to both writers and readers if they had a more affordable model. Sigh. I sincerely wish you good luck on this venture!
Thank you, DC. As a fellow dangerous person, what makes you dangerous? Me, I'm 61 with 4% body fat, still in college hockey shape, though thanks to my left knee and right ankle can't play ice anymore, just street.

$100 per year?? Ouch. Looks like I won't be able to enjoy your posts. Still, it's good to know that Copyranter is back.
I haven't had a full-time since 2013. Sorry.
